A lot of backyards in Gig Harbor look great from the house - until you get to the edges. That's where the overgrowth takes over. Ivy creeping in from every direction, tangled brush piled against the fence line, root systems that have been spreading for years. What should be usable space just becomes a wall of green that you stop thinking about.

That's exactly what we were dealing with here. The area along the fence line had been taken over by a dense mix of shrubs, root mass, and invasive ground cover. We brought in the Kubota mini excavator with a root rake attachment to get in tight without tearing up the existing lawn. The plywood ground protection you can see kept us from leaving a mess on the grass while we worked - small detail, but it matters.

Root removal is where jobs like this get interesting. You can't just clear the top layer and call it done. If the root systems stay in the ground, everything grows back - sometimes faster. We pulled stumps, raked out the root mats, and worked the soil to give this area a clean slate. That's the difference between a real cleanup and just pushing debris around.

Once the overgrowth was out, the usable footprint of the yard expanded in a way that's hard to appreciate until you're standing there. That dead zone along the fence line is now bare, workable ground - ready for whatever the homeowner wants to do with it next. Patio, garden beds, storage - the options are wide open. That's the whole point of property cleanup and reclamation work like this.

We do this kind of work all across the Gig Harbor area. Whether it's a strip of land that's been ignored for a few seasons or a full lot that's been taken over by brush, the approach is the same - get the right equipment in, do the job properly, and leave the property better than we found it.
