This property in Longbranch came to us completely choked with brush, overgrown understory, and tangled vegetation that had basically taken over. New homeowner, big plans - zero usable space. That's a situation we know well.

We ran our Kubota KX040-4 mini excavator with a mulching/brush cutting attachment to work through the dense growth systematically. That combination is really the right tool for this kind of job. It lets us get into tighter wooded areas without tearing up the surrounding trees or the soil underneath. Compared to hand-clearing or chainsaw crews alone, it moves a lot of material fast and leaves the land in much better shape.

What was here before was a wall of brush and low-hanging limbs that made the property feel smaller than it actually was. Property lines were hard to define, access was basically nonexistent, and there was no clear picture of what the land could actually become. Dense, tangled growth like this is also a real concern from a fire safety standpoint - the kind of fuel load that makes defensible space clearing a smart priority in the Pacific Northwest.

Once we worked through the overgrown sections, the mature trees that were worth keeping stayed standing. The lot opened up significantly. Better sightlines, better access, and a clean starting point for whatever the homeowner wants to do next - whether that's a building site, a usable yard, or just land they can finally walk through without a machete.

Jobs like this are exactly what land clearing and lot reclamation work is all about. It's not always dramatic - sometimes it's just getting out of the way of the land's potential and giving a new owner something they can actually work with.
